Rizzoli Bookstore and Hannibal Publishing hosted Linda Zimmerman and Mary Engel in conversation about America in Black and White, the new book of John G. Zimmerman’s early black and white photographs on April 11th. The discussion included Ms. Zimmerman’s research and discovery into her father’s historical photos and what goes on behind the scenes at the archive. Mary Engel is the founder of the American Photography Archives Group or APAG, an invaluable resource for those who own or manage photographic archives; the JGZ archive has been a grateful member of APAG for the past decade.

John Brancati of ACC Publishing Group, the book’s U.S. distributor, was on hand for the book signing along with Joan Moore of the Everett Collection, which licenses JGZ’s celebrity and lifestyle photographs. Several more America in Black and White book events are in the works, so stay tuned!
